Yesenia Rivera-Ortiz

Yesenia Rivera-Ortiz has served as the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator at the Capitol Region Education Council’s Montessori Magnet School in Hartford, Connecticut, since 2018. With 19 years of experience in the education field, she was honored with the CREC Core Value Award for Demand Equity in 2023, recognizing her dedication to racial justice and the community. Yesenia was also a nominee for the 2024 Innovation in Family Engagement Awards, highlighting her ongoing commitment to family engagement and student success. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Art Education K-12. For the past 6 years, Rivera-Ortiz has been actively involved in event planning, successfully integrating equitable practices into her events by partnering with community members and families.
