Dr. Roslyn Moffitt

Director of Community Engagement

Dr. Roslyn Moffitt is a veteran educator with over thirty years of education experience. She received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Winston-Salem State University, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Delaware State University, administrative licensure from Appalachian State University, and an Ed.D in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has been a tireless advocate for students and families and was awarded the State Leadership Award from the National Association of Federal Program Administrators for her work with federal programs.

Her passion is including all families in the educational process. She has worked as a Coordinating Teacher and Parent Involvement Coordinator for the Title I programs with Wake County (NC) Public Schools and as an Instructional Specialist for Montgomery County (MD) Public Schools, Office of Family and Community Partnerships, coordinating district-wide programs to increase family engagement. She has served as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Title I for the North Carolina Adult Corrections and Juvenile Educational Services system, where one of her initiatives was to provide educational resources for parents of adjudicated youth, and as the Director of Title I and Family and Community Engagement for Chapel Hill Carrboro Public Schools where she spearheaded the acquisition of a Family Engagement Bus for the district.  Currently, she is the Director of  Community Engagement for Successful Innovations, a Virginia company focusing on effective  Family Engagement strategies, and has recently presented at the Virginia Secondary Principals Conference, North Carolina Department of Public Instruction 21st Century Conference, and the National Family Engagement Summit.
