Alaa “Ally” Abdulmajid

Alaa “Ally” Abdulmajid is a native Houstonian who holds a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-6 from the University of Houston and a graduate degree in Counseling from the University of St. Thomas. With 12 years of experience in managing projects, programs, and teams within education, counseling, and the nonprofit field, Ally has dedicated her career to enhancing family and community engagement.

In her role within HISD’s Family and Community Engagement department, she has worked extensively with parents and families to foster stronger community ties and support systems. Ally’s professional experience spans working with diverse communities, clients, and employees of all ages.

Her diverse background as an educator and counselor has enabled her to work in culturally diverse settings with individuals of all ages, primarily young children and adults. Additionally, Ally served as a psycho-social coach, where she trained caseworkers in crisis and trauma counseling.
