Dr. Valerie Hill-Jackson, Fulbright Scholar, and an American Educational Research Association (AERA) – Spencer Dissertation Fellow, is an assistant professor of critical educator preparation in the Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development at Texas A&M University in the P12 School Administration program. Dr. Valerie Hill-Jackson served as the Assistant Dean of Educator Preparation and School Partnerships in the College of Education and Human Development from 2019-2021. Her work is supported by $37+ million in internal and external grants/contracts from state, federal, and local agencies with nearly $29 million directly attributable to her as the principal investigator for teacher apprenticeship models. As a publicly engaged scholar, Dr. Hill-Jackson delights in her work as the PI of the Teacher Education Residency Model (USDoE), the Brazos Valley Teach program (Greater Texas Foundation), and the LEADERS project (USDoE). In addition, in 2021 she was appointed as the co-editor for the Journal of Teacher Education—a leading journal in the field of teacher education. Dr. Hill-Jackson’s educational philosophy insists, “equity must be the hallmark of every PK-12 educational endeavor in a democratic society.”
