With over 11 years in educational leadership, including 8 as Principal of Kerrydale Elementary in Prince William County Public Schools, Alyse Zeffiro is a passionate advocate for equity, engagement, and academic excellence. Leading a diverse Title I school—where more than 70% of students are English Language Learners and 60% come from low socioeconomic backgrounds— Mrs. Zeffiro has spearheaded transformative instructional practices rooted in Visible Learning. Under her leadership, Kerrydale has achieved national and state recognition, including:
- National Title I Distinguished School (2022) for closing achievement gaps across all student groups
- Virginia Highest Achievement Exemplar School (2024)
- The first Visible Learning Certified School in the state of Virginia
Recognized for visionary leadership and commitment to student success, Mrs. Zeffiro was selected as a Cahn Fellow Distinguished Principal (2023–2024) and named the NAESP National Distinguished Principal for Virginia (2025).
